Launched: Zend Framework + Typo3 project
I’m extremely proud to announce that we have launched our first project where we used Zend Framework in combination with Typo3.
Sing up, in short, as they put it “Is a programme to make sure that singing is at the heart of every primary school child’s life”.
The project is based on Involve, (a CMS that we built on top of Typo3, that makes working with Typo3 a breeze for even the most non-techy people), extensive Zend Framework use across the site and Doctrine as a DBAL.
Typo3 and Zend are both responsible for rendering pages, Zend acting as a frontent plugin. Most modules you see on pages are Zend controllers, even though it does serve full pages as well (see the Training section).
Templating has been implemented using both Zend View and the Templavoila Typo3 extension, Templavoila being responsible for rendering the general layout and Typo3 content elements, and Zend for the attention to detail and database related records.
Apart from Doctrine, we are also using Sphinx, for those queries that need added “oomph”.
The whole thing is hosted in the cloud, courtesy of EC2.
